One of the most beautiful parts of a relationship is the different roles you take on in the relationship to keep it going. One of the most harmful things you can do in a relationship, is to forget what it is your working for, or towards, in those roles. To balance the two, remember the vital roles each of you play, or the strengths you each bring to the relationship and challenge each other to continue to step up your game and take your relationships to the next level TOGETHER.
We allow so much noise and distraction in our lives that it seems we “never have enough time” to do the little things that are really truly important in a relationship like connecting on a deeper level. Simply catching up on the daily “to do’s” like “Did you get the mail?” isn’t going to cut it for the long haul. Ultimately, this causes us to feel disconnected and question is it really worth it, what’s the point… So my point here is, if you want a deeper, more fulfilling, larger than life relationship, you’re going to have to set some goals in place to take you there! Imagine the feeling of achieving the most rewarding goals TOGETHER!
Each week, make it a must to realign, connect, and plan with each other. Talk about the goals you have in place, your plan to achieve them, and progress thus far. It’s also important to share where you may need support or help from your partner to make sure you’re able to contribute to the best of your abilities. So, is your goal to buy a house, get in shape, pay off debt, go on a vacation… Whatever it is, you’ll each play a part or a role to make sure you hold each other accountable to achieving a shared goal together. Define clear goals for you both to work towards, hold each other accountable, challenge each other, and finally celebrate your victories TOGETHER!!
One (of many goals) for Jairek, and I is staying in shape. We make it a point to go on a run together every morning (and if you know me, you know I don’t exactly love to run). While running, we share our daily gratitude and things we are excited about. Having a (hot) running buddy who makes running a lot more fun is a huge help. And we challenge each other during our run, which makes that goal a heck of lot more fun. Then, we then wind down the day with hot yoga. I can’t imagine it any other way. It allows us to connect, grow, learn, and feel a great sense of achievement together (which is pretty dang rewarding)!
Go set some goals, challenge one another, have fun while doing it and finally celebrate your victories!!!
Get your love on,
Amanda
